چکیده

The taxonomy of ribbon worms (Nemertea) is particularly challenging due to the sparsity distinct morphological characters, causing a significant underestimation group’s true diversity. number named deep-sea species very limited and there vast undescribed nemerteans still be discovered. In this paper we figuratively ‘cut ribbon’ name seven new monostiliferous hoplonemerteans from seeps seamounts along Costa Rican margin, one Oregon vents Juan de Fuca Ridge, USA. Chernyshevia escarpiaphila gen. et sp. nov. five genus Alvinonemertes (Alvinonemertes dariae nov., dagmarae christianeae claudiae tatjanae nov.) represent Oerstediina, whereas three Tetrastemma sundbergi polyakovae strandae Amphiporina. One tubulanid palaeonemerteans described but not provided with lacking sequence data for comparison. Additionally, provide lineid heteronemertean, reptant hoplonemertean, two further eumonostiliferan hoplonemertean species. We use an integrative, turbotaxonomic approach combining DNA concise descriptions fully digitized serial histological sections made available as cybertypes.

Controls on authigenic carbonate precipitation at cold seeps along the convergent margin off Costa Rica

[1] Five sediment cores from cold seeps at the forearc off Costa Rica were used to explore the relationship between fluid advection, dissolved Ca concentrations in upward migrating fluids, and authigenic CaCO3 precipitation. A numerical transport‐reaction model was used to determine rates of anaerobic oxidation of methane (AOM), CaCO3 precipitation, and benthic fluxes of solutes. Production of ...

Montane Salamanders from the Costa Rica–Panamá Border Region, with Descriptions of Two New Species of Bolitoglossa

Two new species of lungless salamanders (Plethodontidae) are described from montane habitats of eastern Costa Rica and adjacent western Panamá. Bolitoglossa gomezi and B. bramei are distinguished from each other and from other salamander species in this remote area in adult body size, external proportions, foot webbing, tooth counts, and/or external coloration. Both new species are assigned to ...
